Timelapse Movie of Maui Artist Painting Peter Rosen's Portrait
Aloha!
Check out this time lapse video of Maui Artist painting a portrait of Creativity Cafe founder Peter H. Rosen. The movie was made on a MacBook Pro using BTV Pro software set to make an 8 frame-a-second movie from images captured at 5 second intervals. The artist was kind enough to gift me this portrait valued at over $250 in trade for my service as photographer.

Maui Artists Showcase Technical Rehearsal Photos 11-9-99 Flashback
I just came across these images by Three Singing Eagles. I thought
you might also enjoy memories of the good old days at Akaku -
preparing with a team of friends the inaugural production in many
years of the Maui Artists Showcase and networking events. We produced
4 shows. The others will also be posted at some point:
http://creativity.net/maui/mas/gallery/mastestpix.html
If you haven't noticed the blog over at
http://ccafe-maui.blogspot.com/
you can also see the actual show we produced via the link there!
Enjoy!
Peter
PS: the two month experiment at Lighthouse Cyber Cafe has concluded.
We are no longer producing MAS there. Stay tuned for another round at
Akaku.
Moving On - Lighthouse Production goes Dark
The V.A.R.I.O.U.S. Media Ink; Visionary Artists Showcase and Networking Event really does depend on the delivery of BIG SCREEN PROJECTED IMAGES that make the artists go "Wow! I've never seen my work that large." Also, the studio's at Akaku where we produced in the past gives us much higher production values.

PLEASE RETURN MY COMPOSITION BOOK JOURNAL
contents, you might be reading this now.
THE BLACK AND WHITE speckled composition book was lost yesterday at
Queen Ka'ahumanu Center. It's more valuable to me, than the the
checks I was about to deposit! That might be why you haven't returned
it? What a sad commentary on some people's ethics. The book had the
inscription on the cover: "IF FOUND PLEASE RETURN" along with my name
and number.
One would think if a responsible person found it, they would call
immediately -- leading me to believe young kids figure into the mix?
Obviously they don't have the emotional maturity to know that someone
who kept such a scrapbook of their lives, would indeed miss it. It's
certainly of no value to them and the checks have all been stopped.
PEASE RETURN MY BOOK if you found it. My phone number is everywhere
on the promotional cards carried in its pages. They are copies of
the graphic designs I use to market my community service project:
V.A.R.I.O.U.S. Media Ink; Visionary Artists Showcase and Networking
Event. Please call that number all over the Maui Artists Showcase
promo cards, and tell me where to pick up the notebook.

Creativity Cafe Founders Corner: V.A.R.I.O.U.S. Media Ink; Visionary Artists Showcase and Networking Event
Last night was kind of a non event. I arrive late with Marilyn to Akaku (Maui Public Access) where there was going to be a presentation about the encroachment of big business and political influence on squelching freedom of speech via the public access television station on Maui. There were about 60 people there. Unfortunately it was easier for Jay April who was presenting (and whom I worked with he first moved to Maui). But that's another story worth telling when the millionaire's money funding the project that involved another friend (Howard P) fell apart due to scandal.
I thought quickly since I couldn't send the video of our gathering as promoted and advertised. I managed to video record 4 segments of about an hour and some odd, before my hard drive filled up to the point of threatening to bring my Macbook Pro down. I was using a Canon ZR-70 Camera via firewire recording in BTV Pro. worked like a charm. Glad I had set the resolution to 320 x 240 as I usually operate at 5-8% headroom rather than the 10% recommended. i.e. if you have a 100GB HD, you leave 10GB free for use by the system for storing temp files and moving operating data around. I have posted the videos on our Blip.tv channel!

Welcome to the New Home of the Maui Artists Showcase: V.A.R.I.O.U.S. Media INK
But before we can manifest anything on Earth, somebody has had to of communicated an idea in such a way, as to make it visible, understandable and manufacturable. That is, they either wrote something or drew something to get what was on their mind... out!
We at Creativity Cafe believe in the positive power of creativity - not only communicating new ideas and beauty, but also for healing our hearts, minds and souls, problem solving and for out of the box edutainments designed to bring peaceful resolve to personal, local and global community conflict.
On the road to the vision of Creativity Cafe, I thought I would facilitate the expression of creative people -- not only to meet kindred spirits and make new friends, but to find collaboration partners, especially those free thinking souls, seasoned business personalities and other souls who've been born on Earth to make a difference.
Think of Creativity Cafe as a collaboratorium and mentoring center. Wouldn't it be great to have a venue anywhere you travel where the local denizen want to be of service to you? A clubhouse filled with people whom it pleases to assist with your happiness, health and success... people who are willing to take action on your behalf, if they see a way to fill your need. This is Pronoia! and what is at the very heart of Creativity Cafe and fellow consortium members.
I offer V.A.R.I.O.U.S. Media Ink; Visionary Artists Showcase and Networking Event up to you as a first come first presented soap box for sharing your creative spark and interacting with a live audience in this "LIVING GALLERY" event and core Creativity Cafe technology.
We hope you will subscribe to this blog and by doing so, join our efforts to create a venue specifically to nurture creative spirit in all of us.
By subscribing to this blog, you will also secure your space on the big screen for the taping our showcases at the studios of Akaku, Maui Community Television. We are broadcasting from there this Friday, as a special service to our creative community.
Participate via chat in discussion on the ramifications of personal broadcasting (on the Internet) and how that will assist with the age old plight of the creative personality, doing business: i.e. marketing, promotion and expanding one's ego (branding) so it rises above the noise floor (which is also a role Creativity Cafe is designed for).
Have a great day!
Chromatically Yours,
